Deacons remind the Church of Christ\u2019s love for the poor and oppressed and strive to share Christ\u2019s love through service. They seek to help the Church respond to the needs of the wider community and may be engaged in work outside of the gathered worshipping community where they pioneer relevant ministry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Deacons are primarily enablers and encouragers and also help to grow church members in undertaking aspects of ministry within the local context.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Deacons, or members of the Diaconal order, are ordained to the ministry of word and service. Like presbyters, deacons undergo a period of probation and training prior to ordination. Chapter 13 of the MCSA\u2019s laws and discipline provides more detail about the Diaconal Order.<\/p>\n<p>[\/gva_block_heading][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Orders Of Evangelism&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h1|text_align:left&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Cabin%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C600%2C600italic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Order of Evangelism is a Lay Ministry of the Biblewomen and Evangelists called into the service of evangelism and church growth under the doctrinal principles of Methodist Church of Southern Africa. Evangelists and Biblewomen who are called to this service are trained for a minimum of two years and the training includes attending classes at college as specified by the EMMU.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Evangelists and Biblewomen should:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Be full members in good standing of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa for a period not less than two years;<br \/>\nReside in the Circuit of candidature; and<br \/>\nMeet all the moral expectations of a Christian, including giving to the life of the Church material and spiritual gifts such as talents, time and money.<br \/>\nThis order is led and served by a Warden who is a minister in full time employ of the church. The warden\u2019s duties include the development and monitoring of programmes of the order; to ensure that the work of the order is consistent with the church\u2019s transformation strategy; to ensure educational growth and development of the order ; look out for the needs and interests of all bible women and evangelists as well keep the rest of the Connexion informed about all their programmes.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4706&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; title=&#8221;Clarence Mfuleni&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Presbyters&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Cabin%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C600%2C600italic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal&#8221;][vc_column_text]Two categories of ordained people serve in the MCSA \u2013 deacons (members of the diaconal order, ordained to word and service) and ministers (members of the order of presbyters, ordained to word and sacrament).
