Dear members and friends of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa Conference, 2017

It is with great joy that I greet you in the name of our risen Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

I continue to be thankful and honoured to be the resident Bishop of the Central District, and consider it our honour and privilege to welcome you and the Conference to our Central District for 2017.

Our Conference theme is “Being Together with God’s Creation”.

This theme allows us to explore our diversity, seek the gift of our Connexion and give us a renewed imagination for the future.

Conference will be on the move by meeting in various Circuits for business, worship and the ordination service.

Spanning the length and breadth of the Central District, we will move through the rural towns of the North West, from Vryburg, to the epicenter of Africa’s economy in Sandton, in Gauteng. From Huhudi to Dainfern, Diepkloof to Ikageng. From Jabavu to Sannieshof, and Coligny to Midrand.

The riches of our Methodist tradition resonate and call our witness louder as a district, building on tradition and moving into the 21st Century.

As we prepare to gather for the 2017 Annual Conference, may we experience anew God’s call for us to be a Christ-led, spiritual breath of fresh air that changes the world!

Led by Christ, and allowing Christ to work through us, we can be filled with the hope and dream of God that this world will be transformed and will come to know the hope, love, joy, and peace that brings new life to a Christ-healed Africa for the healing of nations.

Grace and Peace
